Jumping back into the fray

Well, I have been rather slack. I didn't realise that it had been sooooo long since I last posted, so thought I had better get my act together.
WI this morning and I lost another 900grams after an extremely surprising loss of 2.0kg last Monday, which brings my total after 5 weeks to 6.7kg. Very pleased, especially after the weekend I've just had.
I surprised myself over the weekend by having a total blowout, but have recovered sufficiently today to feel that it was just a hiccup and nothing more. I could feel myself working up to the overeating all week and even tried to satisfy the craving for junk food by eating grilled fish from the fish and chip shop and taking the kids to Red Rooster on Thursday night. But the fish was really greasy and the RR skinfree wrap was just plain awful, so my plan backfired.
Saturday started well with fruit for brekky, but then it was an all out effort to stuff as much food down my throat as was humanly possible. I had chicken and chips, followed up with fresh Baker's Delight bread slathered in butter, then more slathered in Peanut Butter, then a block of Cadbury's Hazelnut (thank goodness I could only manage half) and three, count them, three Monaco bars. A whopping 53 points in one day. But that wasn't enough for me, was it? I followed up on Sunday with another 42 points, thanks mainly to a few nips of Bailey's Irish Cream after hubby got really, really annoying. I managed to finish the week with negative 26.5 saved points.
So, this morning's WI was a big surprise, but I know that the work is ahead of me to make sure that the weekend blowout doesn't undermine all the good work I've done til now. The only positive thing out of the weekend is that I finally got on my bike and figured out how long it will take to ride to work. After I finish typing up this, I'm heading to the laundry to iron enough uniforms for the remainder of the week. That way, if I get hubby to drop me (and the uniforms) off in the morning, I can walk home tomorrow night and then ride every day for the rest of the week. It's about 6km and should only take about 20 - 25 minutes each way, so a great way to fit the exercise in to the day.
Time for the ironing. Promise I won't stay away for so long next time. Cheers all.
Trish.
